AMWA is a nonprofit professional organization for people in the medical communications field. The group provides medical writers and editors with chances for professional growth in a social and supportive atmosphere. Services and activities include meetings and conferences, a job posting exchange, seminars and workshops, publications, and a core curriculum program in biomedical communications.
Our chapter has over 400 members and covers more than 200,000 square miles, encompassing Southern California (zipcodes < 94000), Arizona and Southern Nevada (zipcodes 889xx, 890xx, and 991xx). We also have a satellite group centered in Phoenix, Arizona. We have several lunch meetings every year in various Southern California and Arizona locations.
