Founded in 1940, the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) is a
nonprofit professional organization for people in the medical
communications field. The group provides medical writers and editors
with chances for professional growth in a social and supportive
atmosphere. Services and activities include meetings and conferences, a
job placement exchange, seminars and workshops, publications, group
insurance plans, and a core curriculum program in biomedical
communications. To join, visit www.amwa.org.
AMWA has
numerous regions. The Pacific Southwest Chapter covers southern
California, southern Nevada, and Arizona. We meet 4-6 times a year in
various southern California and Arizona locations.
